Irlapadu: Village Congregation

Irlapadu is a small village in Andhra Pradesh that sits about 8 miles outside Chilakaluripet.  Anil and the church in Chilakaluripet have been supporting the small, mostly female, village congregation for several years.  The village has strong Hindu and Catholic roots, and have consistently discriminated against the church of Christ that met in a small shed outside one member's home.  When the opportunity to buy land for a church building came up, Anil jumped at it, pawning his wife's gold to use as a down-payment.  Though the land has appreciated in value, Anil is still trying to pay off the interest to his $3,000 loan (that's a lot of money in India).  The small structure they were able to build was promptly torn down by the anti-Christian Hindus from the village.  The congregation is still without a proper structure to comfortably worship in, but faithfully meet regardless.  Please pray for these brothers and sisters as they continue to spread God's love in this village, and search for the funds to buy a proper building.
